INDIGO DYE RECOVERY

Indigo dye is one of the most consumed dyes in the textile sector, as it is widely used for the dyeing of denim clothes. In production of denim fabrics, yarn is impregnated in a series of indigo dye baths. After the dyeing process, the yarn is rinsed with water. The rinsed water is then oxidized (aeration/ H2O2) to create an insoluble indigo dye solution of approximately (0.1 - 5 g/l indigo).

In existing conventional methods, the entire effluent gets loaded on Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and hence adds huge capital and operational costs for waste management systems.

In an advanced technology like INDION UF specialilty membrane system, the effluent from rinsed bath is treated with the help of UF membrane system to concentrate & recover Indigo dye from 0.1 - 5 g/l to 40 - 70 g/l & same can be reused in dye rinsing bath.

UF specialty membrane system recovers indigo dye from waste stream of consistent permeate quality. Recovery of indigo dye from waste stream reduces load on downstream Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP).
